Learning to row in the esteemed Olympic Marine Stadium holds a profound significance that transcends time. As we glide across these hallowed waters, I am acutely aware of the rich history that permeates every stroke. This iconic stadium, built in 1932, witnessed the triumphs and aspirations of past Olympians who graced its waves. Now, as the future site of the 2028 Olympics, it stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of athletic excellence. The juxtaposition of the modern-day stadium captured in the aerial photo and the historic photograph from 1932 evokes a deep sense of connection to those who came before me, igniting a fire within my soul. It is within these sacred waters that I feel a profound connection to the sport, to the spirit of competition, and to the timeless pursuit of racing glory.
Please note: If you're coming to see a Regatta or to spend the day enjoying Marine Stadium on the beach or in the water, you might see some construction and renovation underway for the Olympics in 2028! They are extending the Stadium and updating the facilities.
It will be exciting to see the transformation over the coming years.
